Where to eFoil in Miami: Best Spots, Demos & Lessons
Miami is one of the best places anywhere to ride an eFoil. Warm water most of the year, a wide protected bay, and plenty of calm spots to launch. Here is where to try one, ride one, or demo the top brands before you buy.
The best places to eFoil in Miami
Almost everything happens on or around Biscayne Bay. The barrier islands and the reef offshore break up the ocean swell before it reaches the bay, so you get warm, open water without the chop of the open coast.
Biscayne Bay
The go-to. Flat, protected, and warm, with the skyline on both sides. No surf break and easy conditions make it the best water in the city to learn on and to log hours once you own a board. It is where we run our lessons and demos out of Miami Beach Marina.
Hobie Beach and Virginia Key
Hobie Beach (aka Windsurfer Beach) sits right on the Rickenbacker Causeway, minutes from downtown. Shallow water, easy launches, free roadside parking, and great skyline views. Go early for flat water and fewer people, and launch from the open sandy gaps, well away from swimmers.
Crandon Park and Key Biscayne
Keep going down the causeway and the water opens up. More room to carve, less traffic overhead. It is protected park water, so keep your distance from shore and swimmers and stay off the seagrass.
Matheson Hammock, Coral Gables
The calmest water in Miami. The sheltered atoll pool and flats here are a quiet, easy place to build confidence on a new board.
North Miami Beach
Want a little more action? The water around 76th Street picks up small rolling swell for a surf-like feel. Best for riders who already have their balance dialed, not a first session.
Ride responsibly
An eFoil is a powered board, and you are sharing the water with swimmers, boaters, and wildlife. Stay clear of swim zones and crowded beaches. Give people the right of way. Keep your distance from shore and stay off the seagrass. Watch for manatee zones and posted rules. Riders keep these spots open by riding smart, so do your part. New to it? Take a lesson before you head out alone.
Where to try an eFoil before you buy
Ride one before you spend the money. How a board lifts, carves, and holds steady at slow speed is impossible to judge from a spec sheet. You have to stand on it.

Where to take an eFoil lesson

We teach on Fliteboards at Miami Beach Marina on the calm water of Biscayne Bay, with an instructor in the water with you the whole time. Full details are in our guide to eFoil lessons in Miami, or you can book a lesson here.
Which eFoils can you ride in Miami?
We stock the top end of the market: Fliteboard, known for its range and safety features, and Lift Foils, including the quiet, fast-setup Lift X. Both are available to demo, learn on, and buy, with local service after the sale. See the full lineup on our eFoil page. Want to ride below the surface instead of above it? We also carry the SEABOB.
