We walked the Nor-Tech line in Cape Coral to see it for ourselves, from bare molds to the sea trial. Here's how your boat comes together, and where Angle of Attack is with you along the way.
From the factory floorWhat stood out was how much Nor-Tech still does by hand, and how much stays in the building. Hulls are laid up by hand, every custom paint job is sprayed in their own booths, and cushions are stitched on site. No boat ships until it's been run on the water.

Hand-Laid Hull
Nor-Tech Lamination ShopEvery hull is laid up by hand in the mold. Woven fiberglass goes in layer by layer, with high-density foam, Kevlar and carbon fiber added in key areas for strength without extra weight. The hull strakes are filled and cored for added stiffness.

No-Wood Structure
Stringers · Transom · DeckThe composite stringer grid is fully sealed in fiberglass, and seat backs, panels, doors and lids are all marine-grade composite. With no wood in the boat, there's nothing to rot. The transom is heavily reinforced to carry triple, quad and quint outboards.

Nor-Tech Paint Shop · Three Downdraft BoothsThis is where a Nor-Tech becomes yours. Your paint scheme, from a single bold color to full custom graphics, is laid out and hand-sprayed by Nor-Tech's own painters in three downdraft booths using automotive-grade PPG paint. It all happens in-house, so the same team that builds your boat paints it.

In-House Upholstery & CarpentryCushions are cut and stitched by hand in marine-grade fabrics, in the colors and patterns you pick to go with your paint. Upholstery and carpentry are done in-house too, so your boat never leaves the building until it's finished.

Rigging BayEngines, controls, Garmin electronics and audio are installed and wired. Power ranges from triple 300Rs on the 340 Sport up to quint 500Rs on the 450 and 500 Sport, and quad 500Rs making 2,000 horsepower on the 4000 Roadster.

Where are Nor-Tech boats built?
Every Nor-Tech is built at the factory in Cape Coral, Florida. Lamination, custom paint, upholstery, carpentry and rigging are all done in-house.
Can I get custom paint on my Nor-Tech?
Yes, and it's one of the best parts of ordering one. Nor-Tech designs and sprays every custom paint scheme in its own paint shop, from a single color to full graphics. If you want, your Mercury Racing outboards can be color-matched to the boat.
What else can I customize?
Upholstery colors and patterns, deck layout, electronics, audio and your Mercury Racing power package. We'll walk through every option on the order form with you.
How long does it take to build a new Nor-Tech?

Nor-Techs run Mercury power: Mercury Racing 300R, 400R and 500R outboards in triple, quad and quint setups, with Verado 600 V12 options on the larger consoles. The 4000 Roadster runs quad Mercury Racing 500Rs.
